We also have a DLAR (Developmental Language and Reading) program for ELL students new to the country.

  • The hours in between school ending and parents returning home from work are crucial hours in the life of a child. Afterschool programs provide students the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning, interact with their peers, work under the care and supervision of supportive mentors, build on lessons learned during the school day and more.

We have Before School and After School YMCA for our students on our campus.

  • We offer a challenging curriculum with middle school advanced and high school level courses. In addition, students will experience electives in the areas of band, orchestra, chorus, art, and physical education. We also offer a Gifted and Talented Program.

It is very important for each student to consider their current program and long-range goals throughout their career at Walker Middle School.

  • Parents are the cornerstone of children's education. We encourage all parents to be involved in the day to day operations of our school.

Walker Middle School and OCPS have several committees and booster organizations that are focused on making our schools a highly productive, wonderful place to be.

Walker Middle School Alumni are strongly connected to the community. We host an annual Senior Reception where we invite all students that are graduating high school to come back and celebrate.
