PARENT CONFERENCES

Parent conferences may be scheduled by contacting Mrs. Tellado in the front office at (407) 858-3210. The team leader will call back or advise Mrs. Tellado regarding the date and time of the conference. Conferences are possible from 8:45 AM – 9:15 AM (except on Wednesdays) and are encouraged to keep parents informed regarding the progress of students. Weekly Progress Reports are also available through the Guidance Department in the front office.

BACKPACKS

Regular school backpacks purchased at local stores are acceptable. Lockers are not issued, with the exception of PE and Band. Students will, therefore, need a backpack for papers, binders, notebooks and reading materials.

TEXTBOOKS

Walker Middle School provides students with a set of textbooks to take home for the school year. These textbooks will be issued the first few weeks of school. Students must take these textbooks home to be used for homework and study. At the end of the year, or upon withdrawal from Walker, students MUST return the books before withdrawal papers can be completed and report cards issued.

PASSING TIME

Restroom and water breaks should be made during passing time (4 minutes between classes is allowed) and before or after lunch. This avoids loss of instructional time and disruption during class time.

HALL PASSES

The student will be provided with a hall pass from their teacher that must be used each time a student leaves the classroom during instructional time.

SCHOOL VISITORS

It is very important for the safety of all of our students, that parents and visitors on campus first check in at the front office and obtain a visitor’s pass.
