It is an honor to be your proud principal for the 2020- 2021 school year! At Walker Middle School, I am committed to continuing increasing student achievement. Providing a safe learning environment focusing on rigorous coursework and positive relationships with staff and students. Teachers and staff are committed to the success of every student and meeting their academic needs. This year we have specific safety protocols in place to ensure the health and wellbeing of our entire Walker Middle School family. Please review these procedures and safeguards in the OCPS Health and Safety Procedures Manual.

As parents and community members, we encourage you to be active members of our school. I believe in the positive partnerships between parents/community and the school. One organization that can positively influence your child's education is the School Advisory Council (SAC). These meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm (SAC) in the media center beginning in November. Meetings in September and October will be virtual for social distancing safety.

Please help us celebrate our continued improvement in our school grade as we strive for a “B”! Our students and teachers are working hard to continually improve, but we need your help in ensuring students at home on LaunchEd learning are engaging and participating as well. Let’s continue to chart our course toward excellence! Please, contact us if you have any concerns throughout the school year. We are working together to provide your child the best education possible!

Summer School for Recovery and Acceleration

Hello,

Students are welcomed to join us this summer for an acceleration program for Reading and Math. This is voluntary. Please use link if you would like to come. https://forms.gle/TxR6FtH716rnsJmu6

Students who received letter to join for the Recovery program (8th graders who need to improve grades before moving to high school) are expected to come. If you bring up your grades and no longer need to recover, you will be notified by your Counselor before summer school starts.

You must sign up by April 22 if you need a school.
Hours: Monday- Friday 9:30- 2:45 Transportation provided if you leave further than 2 miles away.
